Terms of Use

Effective October 23, 2026

In plain words

  • Your school gives you a Fish account to take part in its community. Use it for that.
  • Be kind. No harassment, hate, threats, explicit material, spam or pretending to be someone else.
  • You can report or block anyone, and your school's staff review reports.
  • Your information is handled as our Privacy Policy says, and you can ask your school to delete your account at any time.

Using Fish

Fish is made by Attack Penguin for schools, their families and their staff. You don't sign up for Fish yourself: your school creates your account and decides which of its people can use it. By using Fish you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you're a student, your school has agreed to them on your family's behalf for school use.

Fish is for your school's community: its classes, groups, events, forms, payments and messages. Please use it for that.

Your account

  • Sign-in links and passkeys are how you get in. Keep your email and devices secure, and don't forward a sign-in link to anyone.
  • Your account is yours alone. Don't let anyone else use it.
  • If you think someone else has got into your account, tell your school or write to us straight away.

What you post

You're responsible for the messages, posts, photos and replies you share. Share only what you have the right to, and think about the children in a photo before you post it. These aren't allowed anywhere in Fish:

  • Harassment or bullying, of anyone, children or adults
  • Hate speech, or attacks on people for who they are
  • Sexually explicit material, and anything that sexualises a child
  • Violence, threats, or encouraging harm to yourself or others
  • Spam, scams and advertising
  • Pretending to be someone else, or sharing someone's private information without their permission

Your school can remove what breaks its rules or these terms, and can remove you from Fish. So can we. Where a child may be at risk we act straight away, without warning, and may tell your school or the authorities.

Reporting and blocking

  • Any message can be reported, with a reason. Reporting a message also blocks the person who sent it.
  • You won't see messages from someone you've blocked. You can unblock them from your account settings.
  • Your school's administrators are told about every report and decide what happens. We step in where the law or a child's safety needs us to.

Payments

When you pay for lunch, a fundraiser, the school store or a bill, you're paying your school, through our payment provider Stripe. Questions about a charge or a refund go to your school.

Leaving Fish

You can ask your school to delete your account at any time from your profile; see how to delete your account. Your school can also remove you, for example when your child leaves.

Our part

We work hard to keep Fish running and your information safe, but we can't promise Fish will never be interrupted or never have a fault. To the extent the law allows, Fish is provided as it is, and Attack Penguin isn't responsible for losses that come from using it beyond what the law requires. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you that can't be limited.

Changes to these terms

We'll post any change here with a new date. If a change matters, we'll ask you to agree again the next time you open Fish. If you'd rather not, you can ask your school to delete your account instead.
